"Be you, love you, all ways, always." – Alex Elle
This quote has always resonated with me because I've seen how transformative self-compassion can be. When clients begin treating themselves with the same kindness and understanding they would offer a close friend, they create space for healing, growth, and lasting change.
My goal is to foster an environment where clients feel safe to let go of harmful self-perceptions and self-judgment. Together, we'll work to remove barriers to self-compassion, cultivate self-forgiveness, and develop greater insight through honest and productive self-reflection.
I believe therapy should be personalized because there is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing. My therapeutic style is approachable, collaborative, and creative, meeting clients where they are while helping them take manageable steps toward meaningful goals. Depending on each person's needs, I may incorporate art, music, movement, mindfulness, and other expressive interventions to encourage self-discovery, emotional healing, and resilience.
I earned my Master of Social Work from Dominican University in 2013 and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in 2015. In 2020, after seven years of clinical experience, I completed the Sexual Health Certificate Program through the University of Michigan to deepen my understanding of how our relationships with our bodies, sexuality, and lived experiences influence mental and emotional well-being.
Throughout my travels, education, professional experience, and personal journey, I discovered a passion for supporting members of the LGBTQIA+ community and individuals navigating life's many transitions. I specialize in working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, chronic illness, caregiver stress, women's health concerns, and end-of-life issues. My approach integrates person-centered, strengths-based, mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques while remaining current with evidence-based practices to provide thoughtful, individualized care.
Outside of the therapy office, you'll often find me spending time with my partner, family, friends, and animals or creating art. I enjoy everything from painting on small canvases to designing large-scale murals. Through my artwork, I hope to engage my community, raise awareness around social issues, and encourage conversations about mental health, self-care, activism, and creating environments where everyone can thrive.
