Therapist

You may come to therapy feeling as though you are holding things together on the outside while internally experiencing anxiety, emotional overwhelm, difficult relationships, cultural expectations, or a sense of disconnection from yourself. These experiences often reflect deeper patterns shaped by complex trauma, emotional dysregulation, and life transitions. My work focuses on adults (18+) navigating these concerns, with a specialization in supporting immigrants and first-generation individuals exploring acculturation, belonging, family dynamics, and life between cultures. Together, we create space for self-understanding, stability, and meaningful change.

My approach is collaborative, culturally responsive, and grounded in genuine connection. I integrate evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and trauma-focused interventions to support emotional regulation, self-compassion, and resilience. As a Registered Art Therapist (ATR), I also incorporate art therapy when appropriate, using creative expression through drawing, painting, writing, and other artistic modalities to deepen insight, process emotions, and support healing. I believe that meaningful change happens when we engage both the mind and body while honoring each person's unique story.

I have experience working with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, OCD, psychosis, schizophrenia spectrum disorders, bipolar spectrum disorders, and co-occurring substance use concerns. I am passionate about helping clients better understand themselves, strengthen emotional regulation, and build lasting resilience while moving toward a more connected and fulfilling life.

As an immigrant from Azerbaijan and a bilingual Russian-speaking therapist, I bring both personal and professional understanding to identity, culture, and belonging. My experience living between cultures has shaped the way I practice therapy and deepened my appreciation for the complexities of balancing different identities, expectations, and definitions of home. I strive to create a warm, authentic, and collaborative space where clients feel safe exploring who they are and empowered to create meaningful, lasting change.
